Week 14: Surprise*
How do you draw a surprise?
I chose something that surprised me this week and what I think is a common reaction when someone is surprised.
I made a last minute decision to stop by a country park on my way back from a meeting. I had forgotten there was a little farm there and was bowled over by this handsome beast. He was showing beautifully, strutting around for ages with his feathers fanned, but was his lady friend at all interested? Not in the slightest! She was on a shed roof with her back to him the whole time.

I drew the peacock using fineliners on A4 cartridge paper.
The colour is water soluble crayons enhanced after scanning
- I always find the colours blanch badly with delicate pigments.
